3 May 2023 – Sustainability has been a major player at the BlackBook Motorsport Forum 2023 with Right Hub
On April 27, the 2023 BlackBook Motorsport Forum was held at the prestigious KIA OVAL in London, the temple of English cricket; sustainability was at the center of every intervention treated directly and indirectly throughout the day.
In the morning an ad-hoc roundtable titled "Sustainability in Motorsport: challenges and opportunities" was organized by Paul Guest SportPro as moderator and the Right Hub staff as partners of the Forum, with the involvement of some important professionals from different international organizations (Saudi Motorsport, Bahrain International Circuit, Circuit Zolder, Paretta Autosport, WSC Group ETCR, Haas F1 Team, FIM E-Xplorer, RNF Racing MotoGP, OMG Racing SBK UK, World Racing Group, Maserati Formula E Team) from which challenges, such as the lack of skills and culture on the matter, the lack of awareness of its importance, the economic investment to support, emerged.
Right Hub pointed out some valid solutions and effective tools to fill the gaps and address these challenges, including the design and implementation of a management system based on an international standard such as the ISO 20121 standard which can integrate all actions for better sustainability governance, stakeholder involvement and performance measurement.
During the lunch break Luca Guzzabocca CEO and Founder of Right Hub participated as a member in the first meeting of the Electric Commission Advisory Board together with other 18 members (Nascar, IndyCar, European Truck Racing Championship, Santander, NTT, Airspeeder, Extreme E, Bahrain International Circuit, Kaspersky, Formula E, McLaren Applied, AVL, E1 Series, ERA Series, FIM E-Xplorer, Enel X Way, SRO Motorsport Group).
It served as an important roundtable for discussion and comparison between different opinions and experiences about the future of motorsport. Sustainability was once again one of the most significant topics for the development of the sector, as a driving force for the attractiveness of events and circuits, as inspiration for spectators and interest for sponsors.
Throughout the forum, Right Hub staff Luca, Claudia and Cheyenne had the opportunity to have many one-to-one meetings with the organizations interested in our experiences and skills demonstrated by a showreel of some of the many great international ISO 20121 projects in the motorsport sector on which Right Hub has been working since 2014.
See you at the 2024 edition!
